N64 to N64 Adapter

A N64 to N64 adapter lets you play with a Nintendo 64 controller on a Nintendo 64 console. This lets you play with the same controller, but still gives you all of the features below, such as notch calibration, button remapping, input display, ESS adapter, and more.

Saves: the built-in virtual MemPak

The adapter features a built-in virtual memory pak, storing your game saves on the adapter itself.

The adapter emulates a standard N64 Controller Pak using its own internal EEPROM, so no physical pak is required. It provides two independent 256 Kilobit (32 KB) memory paks - Bank 0 and Bank 1 - each the same size as a real N64 Controller Pak and holding its own full, separate set of game saves.

EMSpy can read and write both the adapter's Virtual MemPak (stored in EEPROM) and a physical N64 MemPak inserted into a connected N64 controller.

What it does

Fully customisable button mappings, with 4 renamable presets for quickly changing games.
Notch Calibration allowing consistent range and angles on any controller.
ESS adapter features for customising ESS range when playing the Legend of Zelda titles.
Includes a built-in virtual MemPak with two save banks.
N64 Memory Pak management via EMSpy (if you have the N64 controller input).
Very low input lag, with a default polling-rate of 1000 Hz (adjustable).
Fast and easy settings management via the onboard OLED display & over USB.
Built-in input display feature, streamed over USB and viewable in EMSpy or NintendoSpy.
One-click firmware updates through EMSpy. For new features, more compatibility, etc.

Rumble

Rumble behaviour varies by adapter type and connected controller.

However, N64 controller rumble works through the Rumble Pak, which is powered separately by batteries. Under N64 Pak Settings, if your Virtual Pak is set to Rumble Pak, the adapter presents a rumble pak to the N64 console.

Note that whilst your virtual pak is set to Rumble Pak, the game won't be able to save to the virtual MemPak, as the game will only see a Rumble Pak inserted.

All enclosures are 3D-printed in black. Full features, settings and the tested compatibility list are on the N64 Adapter product page.
